I had a great uncle and grandfather who were Texas & New Orleans and Gulf Colorado Santa Fe employees in Galveston, TX. I grew up near the Rock Island tracks through Hurst and the Cotton Belt track that runs through Grapevine to Fort Worth. My parents also had 200 acres 3 miles from the T&BV crossing with the I&GN in Malone, TX. I currently own that farmland. So naturally, I am a fan of a lot of railroads. I am a model railroader who is modeling Galveston circa 1950 so I have a number of Frisco freight cars in my model included with all the other RRs that went to Galveston. I am sure most of those arrived there via the Katy "Salty" Freight train that ran from the MKT Eurika yard to Galveston. I am here to learn about the Frisco.
