Thanks for allowing me to join. I come from a Frisco family. My grandfather, Merle Means, was a brake inspector in Monett, MO yards. My great-uncle, Hobart Spahr, was a conductor on the freights. His run, according to my mother, was from Monett to Neodesha, KS, then back and down to Van Buren, AR. My great-grandfather was the postmaster at the Globe station back in the late 1800's to early 1900's. This station was just down the hill from our family farm, which has been in our family since 1874. My mother still lives there.
Welcome Miriam and thanks for sharing a bit of your family's history. I suspect your mother and ancestors before her have witnessed a nice cross-section of railroading eras and history. Best Regards,
Welcome aboard. I just moved down the turn pike from you to Stillwater. There's plenty of Frisco history there in Tulsa.
