Hi folks, I came across this great site when I found a listing on Google. I noticed a discussion back in 2014 regarding the Frisco grain hopper that were identical to our FWD/BN hoppers, and wondered if there is still and interest in producing these cars with the plain SLSF lettering. I take it these are rahter rare, and did no tlast long in this paint scheme. We'd need to sell 300 cars. Would it be worth it? I also wonder if there would be an interest in the boxcar below. We'd be innterested in producing it. Again we'd need to sell 300. are there any other Frisco cars we might be able to do? We take existing HO-sclae cars and have manufacturers apply custon paint schemes. Love to hear from you folks. We are also available at info@amarillorailmusuem.com
Welcome to the website, Jerry! If you are referring to the Frisco PS-2 covered hopper painted Cascade green, InterMountain has a model of it listed as "In Transit" which I think means it will be available in a few weeks: https://www.intermountain-railway.com/ho/html/453119.htm As far as the PS-1 boxcar is concerned, several manufacturers, such as Kadee, Accurail, Walthers, and McKeen have made versions of this car, and InterMountain currently has one available. None of them have the "DF-2" appellation though. Manufacturers have been good to Frisco modelers over the years, so it may be hard to come up with something unique with wide spread appeal. Best of luck to you! Rich
The idea of the green covered hopper was a good one, as nobody has produced one before. It's just unfortunate timing of the InterMountain release after a long period of gestation. Rich
