I am a new, but returning old member to this group, its been a long time since I last visited here. I am originally from Clinton Missouri where I was born in a little house next to the Frisco High Line crossing at Second street. The house is gone now, but the tracks across second street are still there, now operated by KYLE or the MNA. Remnants of the Wye were still there in 2019, with large trees in the ROW. I followed the line to the old Lowe Oil dock warehouse where my dad use to load and unload box cars as a young man.
Every since I could crawl to the door to watch the choo-choo's go by, I have loved the Frisco. When I lived in Missouri I did a lot of Frisco railfanning around Missouri and NW Arkansas. I have always played with trains or built my model railroad empire (as you may call it) based on railroading in the Ozarks. I currently model in HO and G scale year round, and O Scale during Christmas season under the tree. Both layouts are Freelanced style with a lot of Artistic License. (look for familiar elements, KC union station, North Clinton interchange with Katy, crossing the Osage, Current or Big piney rivers, a route 66 drive in, a truck-piggyback terminal. a barn with Meramec caverns on the roof) serving the lumber, mining, farming and other industries (like moonshine making) in the Ozarks.
My Frisco lines image a few what ifs:
What if the Ozark-Chadwick line was extended in 1904 to Rockaway beach and interchanged with the St. Louis Iron Mountain & Pacific (Mo-Pac) at Branson, before heading to Little Rock?
What if the Frisco came out of the 1896 receivership and was able to finish building all the way to Santa Fe?
What if you could go from St Louis to Santa Fe upon the Zia limited? with connections to the Firefly and Meteor? Rail-fanning the Frisco along route 66 chasing the trains along the line? and interchanging with the Mo-Pac, Katy and Rock Island.
For the past 17 years I have lived in New Mexico, so I like to muse about the Frisco building all the way to Santa Fe? connecting to the "West Mesa and Tumbleweed" a narrow gauge short line.(Ozark Zia (OZ) subdivision)
I would like to shout out to Karl Brand, Don Wirth and Mike Condren, thank you all for the information, maps and pictures you have shared with me on this and other platforms in the past. I appreciate all your past and future help.
During the pandemic I have had time to lay a lot of new HO track and add a few pieces to the roster.
A certain TARDIS and DeLorean (still in search of a 1/87th scale DeLorean) have been known to visit both layouts, so you may find the ERA of operating on any given day to be during the 1930s-40s, the 50's-60's or 1976.
With just a few changes of equipment we can travel back in time.
Rumor has it, that Jessie James' stolen lost gold (railroad payroll) is still hidden somewhere in these parts, maybe you can find where its hidden?
    Until next time.
    Dan
