Does anyone have an accurate paint color and lettering color info sheet on the tan boxcars? Only color stuff I've seen is the color postcard from years ago and can't be sure it's accurate.
I've never seen anything that designates the color of the lettering or logo. I think the car colors are easily duplicated.
OK paint and letter specialists, go to town.

    Don,

The two that I have worked up were from Sunshine Kits, one was the USRA rebuild the other a AAR car that was placed within that series as replacement for those damaged beyond repair. The colors Martin recommended was a roof brown on the roof and ends and a tan (I used foundation) on the sides. Best I remember the decals were brown were they are typically black and red for the lettering. I you want I'll try to dig one out from storage sometime and snap a photo.

Brad, I think we must have the same Sunshine kit/instructions. Glad that you can dig out a finished model; mine is still awaiting paint/decals!

I did find my instruction sheet where Martin notes that "The prototype brown and tan paint has no perfect match among the available hobby paints. The brown was dark, much like a chocolate bar...the tan was light, bordering on a light gray."

Hopefully this helps, in the absence of a manufacturer that produces either "Hershey Brown" or "Tan-that-Looks-Gray."

    Best Regards,
