My brother picked up a couple of gems as gifts to me. These two Frisco Engineer's Trophy Safety Awards, one to the Northern Division in 1961 and the other to the Northern Division, Western District in 1956 are some interesting pieces. The 1961 award is signed by Lou Menk, V.P. and Clark Hungerford, Pres. The 1956 piece is signed by R.J Stone, V.P. and Clark Hungerford, Pres. They are still in their original frames. Keith those are Safety Awards from the Chief Engineer of the Engineering Department (Track, Bridge and Signal) to the safest Division. The Northern was KC to Memphis (not including Springfield). The Western, Karl might be able to help, was out around Oklahoma City, & Clinton, Ok.
I am thinking the Chief Engineers were Brown and Anderson.

Bill you are correct about the Chief Engineers on both accounts. I wonder how often these awards were given out.

Generally they would start something about April, because that is the begining of the work season. The campaign would run until about November and then award the winning departments. The certificates like you have, I only seen them on the walls of like division offices. I would think, these are not very common. They only went to department heads. Later during my time period, 70's on, they had different programs, trying to get to zero injuries.
