When I was a young boy, four or five years of age, I clearly remember riding the Frisco from Monet, Missouri ( I lived in the Neosho area) to Augusta, Kansas to visit my grandparents. I was accompanied by my two older brothers. My recollection is that most of the trip was spent in the diner/club car sitting at the counter drinking sodas. The conducter/porters were very entertaining...talking and laughing with us and showing us a good time. All in all it was a great trip.

Recently I was in the Springfield Missouri Historical Museum and came across a Frisco map that showed the very route I took that day in '39-'40. Two things I would like to do is get a copy of a map that shows the Frisco routes in the Missouri/Kansas area. Also I would like to get information on the equipment that was probably used to make up that passenger train...engine, diner, baggage car, mail car, etc. If possible I would like to someday purchase the same for my layout in O gauge.

Any help the "Frisco Group" can give me will be greatly appreciated.

My grandfather Thomas Lenard Collacott was the engineer on the train that had a head on crash with a passenger train in Pierce City in 1909.He lived in Monet. He died in my grandmothers arms on the way to Springfield. Any info would be helpful.
