Here are a few more shots I found - let me know if you want to keep seeing these late 70's-early 80's pics. I found several more taken from the Lindenwood pedestrian bridge.

I scanned these GP38-2 pics last night as a group - sorry about that. Plus, I apologize for the desecration of the Frisco road numbers!

SLSF 425 (BN 2280) was taken in Rolla, Mo in the early 1980's. I wanted some detail shots of the rear, the fuel tank, and the cab windows, so here they are. I lived one summer (1963 MSM summer session - chemical engineering labs :() in the basement of a dentist's office just to the left of the bridge in the background in the rear end shot. That was only one block from the depot - I got to know the good old SLSF very well that summer! :) The dentist's building was torn down years later to make room for the new bridge.

SLSF 478 (BN 2333) was taken a bit earlier, but I don't recall the location (Cuba?). Good nose shot showing front end detail and weathering.

    Ken,

I love seeing the orange and white on the middle of the old eastern division. Sorry Don!

Yes, You have my permission to only post 1379 more! There is no bad photo of a Frisco locomotive.

Just call me the village idiot, but is that a three chime horn? Which one?

Sherrel - Nope, the horn on the GP38-2's is the usual Frisco favorite Leslie RS5TRF (or whatever it's called!), with three trumpets forward and two facing to the rear. The two rear facing ones are sometimes hard to see.

In HO, use Details West part AH-191. I think it's 235-191 at Walthers.
