Hello Frisco Folks Here are some photographs of the Frisco depot in Seligman, MO. Take care, Rich Ship it on the Frisco!
Hello to who is interest, The Frisco Depot in Seligman, Mo., was also used by The Eureka Springs Railroad, The St. Louis & North Arkansas Railroad, The Missouri & North Arkansas Railroad, The Missouri & Arkansas Railroad, and Arkansas & Ozarks Railroad (last railroad to used this depot). To anyones who is interest in the history of any of these, please let me know. Thanks, Brian Waller
Well Brian, that is not quite correct. The Frisco was the last railroad to use this depot, the Arkansas and Ozark (A&O) was out of business by 1960, although the track remained behind the depot for several years. I am sure the Frisco used them for switching from time to time.
Well Craig, you are correct about the Frisco was the last railroad to used the depot. What I meant to say that the A&O RR was the last railroad on The North Arkansas Line to use the Seligman Depot. That is to bad that the depot is no longer there. When did the Frisco depot in Seligman, MO disappear? If anyone who want to know the History of the ES RR, the StL&NA RR, the M&NA, the M&A, the A&O RR, please let me know. I do know the history on all these railroads. Thanks, Brian Waller
They did, especially down by Fawver's warehouse for his lumberyard at the north end. It was also interesting to note that some of the rails curving around the east side of the depot had "A&O" painted in white on them until they were taken up.
Hello all, Here is a picture of the Frisco depot in Seligman, MO. I have noticed that this picture that I am going to be posting is already posted on this thread, but I am going to post it anyway. The ES RR, the StL&NA RR, the M&NA RR, the M&A, and the A&O RR did use this depot. These railroads joined the Frisco line just off the left of the depot and the line behind the depot was also use by these railroads. Thanks, Brian Waller
Seligman, MO depot looking south. Arkansas and Ozarks (A&O) tracks to the east, left of the depot, Frisco tracks are on the right. Note the top of the switch stand above the heads of the crowd on the left and the red paving bricks from Coffeyville, KS. Photograph by Opal/Genoa Williams from the Marty Fletcher collection.
