The dates of Saturday Sept. 12th and Sunday Sept. 13, 2009 have been set aside for a Frisco Convention in Pittsburg, Kansas. The event will be sponsored by the Heart of the Heartlands Railroad Historical Society Incorporated, Watco Companies, Inc. and the South Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad. Saturdays events will be held in the meeting facilities of Watco Companies at 315 W. 3rd Street and on Sunday there will be a train ride to the Heartlands museum grounds at Carona from Pittsburg over former Frisco and MoPac lines currently operated by the South Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad using Watco's three air conditioned coaches. A preliminary schedule is below. We have two confirmed clinics by Richard Napper and Mark McClellan. A formal registration form will be coming out shortly.
