Former Frisco diesels on MRL

Like most Frisco fans, I too have a few other railroads that turn me on. The old Colorado Midland, the Milwaukee Road´s operations in Montana, are examples.

It is hard for me to find any modern railroads that get my second look. The Wheeling & Lake Erie is a fairly young and dynamic carrier and of course for Rio Grande fans, a color scheme to make them feel warm inside when the diesels roar by with a coal train.

Out West, Montana Rail Link is, like the Wheeling, another young railroad that does get my second look. The MRL rosters a few former Frisco diesels as well. In his new book by Dale Sanders, there is a pix of a former Frisco switcher that has been rebuilt as well as a shot of an x-Frisco SD45 on the point of a through freight. Note that Don Ross has three of the former Frisco diesels on his site under the MRL page. All are shown in their God Intended Frisco livery as well!

There are several photos of BNSF freights running over MRL that originated in Birmingham and Memphis. This Frisco fan for one sure wishes that our beloved Frisco were still with us and running those trains over the MRL and bringing a twist of spice with new modern high tech diesels in red and white to the Big Sky Blue Country where MRL runs.

I might have to run a fantasy freight on my proposed S scale empire afterall! Sure would like to buy that SD45 and save it with my proposed GP7. Do we have any member with a "Bill Gates" bank account?
