    Folks -
I'm working at a painfully slow pace, but I am trying to make progress on an index for all of the FMIG Newsletters that have been uploaded. Thus far, I'm on NL #3, so one can see that it is definitely moving at the same rate as a glacier.

At any rate, thus far I am including:
    • Letters from FMIGers
    • Prototype Photo References
    • Model Photo References
    • Decal/Mfg. Data

Does anyone else have druthers on what they would like to see indexed? Part of my paralysis has been from not quite knowing what I should include, and what I should omit.

Thanks, in advance, for the feedback.

    Best Regards,

Chris ... I commend your undertaking.:)
I would think landing a man on the moon would be an easier job.
However, that being said, I know that I will certainly make use of your work.
    Thanking you in advance,

    Chris -

Years ago (1981 - I can't believe it was that far back!), I started off on the same task for FMIG - to put together an index of sorts for the FMIG Newsletters. I got as far as Issue #15, June 1978.

It was not technically an index, as I did not include all page numbers, but I listed in detail what was in each issue ..... article topic and author; pictures - with type, road number & source; member letters - with major topic; rosters, drawings, diagrams, & layout plans, etc. - with who provided them; and editor Doug's comments.

I only have it in hard copy (this was way before the digital age!). You are welcome to a copy if you would like it. It may be of help in your worthy endeavor!

    Ken -
It sure would make the initial job much easier for me! Why reinvent the wheel, I reckon? Many thanks for your offer; it might also help my ideas gel and get rolling further.

I'll make a copy (all I have is the original) and get it off to you.

    Ken,

Are you going to supply Chris with an OCR e-copy he could re-format and add pages? I could help with that if you like (though not this weekend - I have to go to Columbia, MO). If it is already made, and Chris is in town, I could carry the copy to Columbia for you!

George, thanks for the offer! Alas, while we will be in town, we'll be away from home pretty much the whole live-long day both Saturday and Sunday (and we're not even going to the first football game Saturday night!).

    Best Regards,

I made copies today at Kinkos. I do not have this thing in a digital file.

Chris - Send me a PM to Meteor910 with your mailing address.

George - Thanks for the offer. We need to do another Frisco project here in StL. No word yet from Sue at the Kirkwood HS as to any success finding a photo of the original Kirkwood Frisco depot (Hill Behan site).

    Folks -
I have completed the FMIG Newsletter Index, Version 1.0

Any errors or omissions are simply due to my own dumbnicity. Accordingly, please send me a PM with any corrections or clarifications. I appreciate any proofing and fact-checking that Frisco Nation can provide, and will work to publish new releases as information is updated.

Putting this together has been a pleasure; it has forced me to dive into these records in close detail and has increased my Frisco knowledge many times over.

My thanks to all of you who participate here who were either charter or early contributors to the FMIG Newsletters. You blazed a trail and have kept it clear for all of us who humbly follow your initial steps to keep the Frisco alive through research and modeling.

    Chris -

Nicely done, thanks for your hard work. This will prove to be very valuable.

Now - you need to get started at once on a similar index for the Frisco Museum "All Aboards" !!! ;)
