    Hello Y'all,

Switching up gears for a lil while and starting a scratch built building project. This is a background building, entitled "Dignowity Iron Works" in remembrance of Dr. Anthony Michael Dignowity, who established Dignowity Hill here in San Antonio, was a physician, and contributed greatly to turn of the century San Antonio living. One such building that was erected in the merchant district of Burnett St, off Dignowity Hill, was the iron works. I don't have a picture of the actual building, so I decided to freelance the building and make one up. This is my very first scratch building attempt.

The building is a three story structure, sitting on a brick foundation, and has a loading dock surrounding two sides of the structure. The dock faces a rail siding that delivers iron and other materials. The overall building measures 2.75x12. It will have tons of detail parts. I hope you will join me as I build this structure.

Here are pics of the progress so far:

Tomorrow I will continue doing the internal bracing. Office doors from Tichy are ordered and on the way. Much, much more coming on this project tomorrow.

    Stay tuned.

    Manny
