Were the GP35's the only "GP" units to carry the black and yellow paint scheme? If so did all of these black and yellow units have the torpedo tubes?

    Thanks.

The GP7 also had the black and yellow paint scheme. They were all delivered in it and over time were reprinted, most of them revived orange and white some time after the adoption of it in 1965. The first batch of GP35s were delivered in black and yellow. They had larger fuel tanks so the air tanks were moved to the top of the loco. They were eventually repaited to orange and white. The rest of the GP35s were delivered in o&w with normal air tank configuration.

    Hope this helped

Thanks Ethan. Brain fart. I knew about the GP7's just wasn't thinking when I made my post. So the GP35's were the only GP "low type hood" models that were found in black and yellow. Do you know if any of the black and yellow GP35's had the beacon on top of the cab?

I believe they came delivered with them, but I'm not 100% sure about that. By the mid 60's pretty much everything had a beacon on it. So all (or most) of the second gen power was delivered with them, and most of the first gen (GP7's, and EMD F A units, and switchers) were retro fitted.

Just a little side note, the U25B's were similar. They didn't have roof top air tanks, but a majority of them were delivered in B&Y scheme. Only the last order or two were delivered O&W if memory serves.
