Caboose SLSF 1776 - Road Pool Service Caboose - Dispositions SLSF---Built---Boxcar---Built---BN #---Retired 1776----9/72---17887----1952----11711--- Notes 1) Built by Frisco at the Springfield, MO Car Shop from a retired Pullman-Standard PS-1 boxcar with a extended or wide vision cupola and two-way radio. 2) Caboose equipped with end of car Freight Master cushioning device system. 3) Prototype for subsequent cabooses SLSF 1400-1442 and SLSF 1701-1725. This caboose featured square single pane car body side windows that slid between the inner and outer walls. Subsequent similar cabooses equipped with aluminum framed rectangular double hung car body side windows. 4) Bicentennial caboose 8/1972-1978. 5) Repainted Mandarin orange and white during 1978.
