Don't forget the cost of shipping 38,000 from near Mobile Alabama to your yard. Oh and you would probably need cranes at both ends of the journey. Guess I'll buy a lottery ticket and hope for the best. |-|
I can remember my engineer Bob Yowell made a hard joint in the Irving yard and cause caboose SLSF 108 to burn to the ground. The floor of the cab was soaked with oil and the old desk lamp fell off and set the fire. May have been bad hand signals instead of Bob's fault ?? I saw the remains in the 8th street round house in Fort Worth.
Hello, Just to let everyone know and to ease everyone's mind, the cab was purchased for restoration by myself and a collegue and will be restored and displayed at a railroad museum in Alabama. I would be happy to share photos as the move progresses and the restoration begins.
