Caboose 1326

  1. Here is my latest offering. I was intrigued by this with the patched out numbers. It appears as 1306 and 1326. Paint shop mixup?
Anyhoo, this is a Red Caboose flat car with the SLSF doghouse from Moloco. The Moloco kit proved to be quite a challenge for some reason. The kit is very precise but very thin pieces and brittle. I'll post a couple of the proto first:

  4. Thanks guys I appreciate the compliments. The Moloco kit is far more fragile than I expected.

Great work, Steve. I'm especially impressed with the effect on the roof - any particular technique/steps?

The scenery/track/ballast on the diorama's pretty good, too.

  7. Thanks guys!
For the weathering I use cheap wal mart acrylics and oils over that. Also Dick Blick gauche. On all the edges I rub graphite.
The track is the same I used in my GP35 thread. I need to get a diorama together for pictures.

Diorama? You meant a layout, did you!

  11. Ha John, I am so far behind on projects I have come to grips with never building a layout. I would need to stop buying now and live til I was 205! Lol
