I have an HO Spectrum Light Mountain. What types of HO passenger train equipment are most like models of the SLSF passenger equipment used on the Birmingham Sub between 1926 and 1953?

There are plenty of passenger car photos throughout this chat board. All the heavyweight steel cars would be appropriate for the period you mention. Look at the threads under "rolling stock" and "heavyweight cars." I've posted photos of several cars myself and others have also. Also have a look at Ken McElreath's (Kenmc) posts. He's posted photos of several pieces of HO equipment that would be suitable and he models the Birmingham area. A large majority of Frisco heavyweight cars were purchased in the 1923-1930 period and many more earlier cars were remodeled by the company in the late 1930's. All those fit your time frame.

I'm slowly trying to assemble a system-wide spreadsheet of locomotive assignments, based on Locomotive Performance Reports as published in The Frisco Employee's Magazines.

While my data is slim, here are relevant passenger assignments that I've logged thus far. I'm guessing that the 1060 classes were still heavy Pacifics (I don't recall the dates when they were rebuilt into Hudsons but I think it was definitely post-1930):

    April 5, 1924:
    4-6-2 #1067, #105, Amory to Carbon Hill

    June 3, 1924:
    4-6-2 #1028, Second 106, Birmingham to Amory

    June 4, 1924:
    4-6-2 #1060, #105, Holly Springs to Amory

    June 13, 1924:
    4-6-2 #1064, #105, Amory to Carbon Hill

    January 20, 1930:
4-8-2 #1526, Extra 1526 South, Yale to Amory

    January 30, 1930:
    4-8-2 #1526, Third 107, Amory to Birmingham

In short, I think from 1930 on you could plausibly run Mountain type power on your trains.

    Best Regards,
