  1. Looking from a satellite I see one depot.

The Missouri Pacific-Missouri and North Arkansas (MNA) track is close to it. The track is on the south side of the yard. The MNA / Genesee and Wyoming website has the "interactive map/satellite" where one can zoom it very far. I was almost able to see a tie spike. The depot is labeled as the Historical Society.

Do both the Frisco and Missouri Pacific depots in Aurora still exist?

    Were they close together?

In addition, it shows all of the MNA tracks in the yard. Lots of them. I do not think that the Aurora yard is currently an interchange location with the BNSF. That is likely done now at Joplin. It does not look lively. It looks like an interesting railroad yard with an near by diamond crossing interlocking.

    Maybe someone has modeled it?

MNA has about 1,000 ACF center-flow hopper cars in storage along ~ 500 miles of track.
I guest they are waiting to haul crops during the fall. Likely down to the Gulf of Mexico
    to export.

    Where are the stored cars?

    Charles,

The Frisco depot in Aurora was torn down several years ago.

The Missouri Pacific depot is a museum now.

The depots were about a quarter mile apart with MP to the east of Frisco.

    mountaincreekar and rjthomas909 like this.
  3. The yard layout is interesting.

I wish that there was some activity. I guess that MNA and BNSF only work together somewhere in the Joplin area.

The BNSF is normally traveling faster than slow poke MNA. The MNA last I heard does not dispatch by signals, it was on a block system.

Perhaps they just phone call to BNSF and they have the red lights?

I just do not understand why railroads are not more into not saving and natalya with pride towards the general public.
