Tom, how did you go about putting the single gyro in? I may have already read something by you saying it, but I don't remember. My minds been mushy since school started back up.

    snort, snort.
    My Drybrushed screens:eek:
I masked the radiator section then airbrushed engine Black (Polyscale) then drybrushed MM Sunburst Orange over the top of that. Now to dull-coat the whole model before the chalk weathering.

BTW, I am running right now the Atlas 853, the Stewart/Bowser 828, and the Atlas 866, all together under incandescent light. I don't see a lick of difference between the red/orange color on these three, certainly less so than occurred in real life. But, then again, I am using old eyes.

Tom, I'm a little confused on part of the process. What is the purpose of the tape on the popsicle stick? And did you just cut away with the knife until the gyro casting fit?

Maybe it's because I'm reading this with tired eyes is why i doesn't make sense.

And yes, football started back in......... January basically. First game was last night. I don't get a lot of time with trains right now because of football and school.

This is probably why I should just stick to doing it and let someone else try to explain it. My skills at writing are not very good.:)

Ready for service and looking good. I've never seen/noticed that big ol' XR series lettering before. What does it mean?

Tom - Absolutely "firsta classa" and completed in record time. I look forward to seeing it in service!

A suggestion - blacken in the sight glass on the right side, just under the "F" in Frisco. Check your Callaway photo. All U30b's had this sight glass. Atlas molded it on, but did not blacken it.

Tom, your U-30 really looks great. Incidentally, the tip you give on the tubing for my Pulpwood cars worked nice. Plastruct 1/8 is the right size to plug the hole in the bolster.

Thanks Sherrel, I got lucky on that little endeavor:)
Anyway here we are leaving the main yard going timetable East with 5 units and 60 cars. That MK rent a wreck is earning its keep.

Golly! - I forgot there is one more U-boat here - PC 2753, an Atlas U28b. Looks good and runs very well with the Frisco U-boats, as in real life they did on run-throughs into StL with auto parts for the assembly plants here.
