It looks like there is the possibility of a Genesis Frisco caboose in our future based on this announced release. The side windows in the cupola are in the right place.
Looks like a nice car, but some work is needed to make it Frisco. Needs window work on the body, looks to me like the cupola is centered on the body while the Frisco ICC's had the cupola off-centered towards one end, and the trucks do not look like those on the first series of SLSF ICC cabs. Stack is also too close to the cupola. But, it's a start! Wouldn't look bad as is if the train in question is supposed to be a SAL or early SCL run-through. K
One must remember that many models are designed as modular pieces, so many different variations can be covered. Genesis is committed to accurate individual models as a result.
That would be cool to have an accurate SL-SF caboose in affordable plastic! Also for myself super detailing or number specific details in plastic is much easier.
The Union Pacific version looks like it has the same trucks as the first 75 Frisco ICC cabooses, so that's one hurdle crossed on the way to an accurate Frisco model. Rich
