Does anyone have a good photograph of a Frisco 2 bay cement hopper in the 84000 series. The Heartlands is in the process of trying to acquire one owned by Watco that is getting close to being retired. The number is 84184. It is still painted Frisco gray with the large FRISCO billboard lettering on the side and the Frisco number. The only thing that Watco did was stencil SKOL over the SLSF on the reporting marks. The car shows to have been built in 1959. I would like to have a photo of a car from this same series while in service on the Frisco. The car is covered in cement dust so might not get repainted soon due to us having to chip the caked on cement off the car.

Thanks for any information you can give,

    John:
There are a couple of shots of cars in this series on the Fallen Flags website. There is also one in the Nick Molo Book.

Plus the two HO Kadee cars in this series would be good guides. Kadee is accurate enough to do that with. The first they did was SLSF 84084, the second SLSF 84009. Pics of both are on the Kadee HO cars site. I believe both cars are decorated "as built" in 1958.

Good News! Kadee has just announced a third road number in this excellent car for July delivery. The stock number is 8042 and the road number will be SLSF 84036. The MSRP will be $42.95.

I have both numbers mentioned by Ken, and they are truly beautifully done as is all of Kadee's work.
