Attached are the first photos of my new freelanced "State Line Railroad (former SLSF State Line branch)" layout. I do not own a Frisco loco YET. (I have an unlettered 4-8-2 with intent to transform into 1529 and plans to purchase a Frisco diesel soon.) PLEASE don't delete this post or close this thread at the site of items with non-Frisco roadnames. For relevancy's sake, allow me to mention that I included some photos of a few of the Frisco rolling stock items I have. I intend to maintain the story that this is a fictional, former branch of the Frisco. In the end, this is the best layout I've had since I started 31 years ago (before I was old enough to start school) and I'm very proud of my progress (you're a poor rooster if you can't crow in your own yard). For the first run of this layout, with a little determination, I managed to get my very first HO model train, completely running...with a few replacement trucks from here and there and a replacement chasis under the original locomotive shell. I even used the powerpack that was a part of that 1st trainset. (I have a few pieces of the orignal track [I believe them to be brass] but not enough to make a circle.) I'm still using powerloc track for now but this too shall pass. Positive comments are welcomed but like my grandmother always told me, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Howdy Brandon, Thanks for posting your layout photos. Most of us are arm chair modelers and haven't nailed a spike in years. Good to see you building something. A better place for your layout post might be the layout section. If you want, I can move it there for you. Keep up the good work and above all, have fun. Best, mike
I would say it's time to call a wrecking crane to that accident site! No crossing gates. Shame on you. At least you have trains running. That's a lot more than I can say.
