Manny, With the engraver you can adjust the airflow and the amount of material you want. I also use it for weathering because I can remove very little paint and it gives it a nice faded look. The media I use is Aluminum Oxide and works well for multiple tasks. Here is the website if you want to take a look at it. http://www.comcoinc.com/products/micro.cfm?page=micro Joe
Awesome - I've never seen a post turtle that looks this good! Just kidding ... really good looking work. I really like the detail that you have added including the shinny rods on the air pump! Beautiful locomotive!
I like the way it hangs(did I just say that). I'm going to use a whisker from my cat just for fun. I read about that somewhere. No, I won't cut it off of him, he leaves one laying around every now and then.
Well, the 1522 is almost complete!!! After an almost two year battle and two repaints I bring you this video of my latest creation. I installed a soundtraxx decoder and utilized all the lighting functions. It has working marker lights, firebox and cab interior lights. I am going to post some pictures once everything is done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQbv5Hpnuzc&list=HL1361323252&feature=mh_lolz Joe
That was so bad you know what. Congratulations on an A Rate Excellent job well done! What a layout! I don't know what was nicer: the scenery inside or outside. Gorgeous. What a way to do laundry with the 1522 overhead. You should be dang proud of yourself. Totally awesome! Talk about award winning! One question: what color red did you use for the roof? Thank you for that treat. That was awesome! I'm so wow'd!
Joe, you have done an excellent job. I hope that my Toby will turn out as nice. I know I have an excellent starting point thanks to Don Wirth and the plating he did to the model long before I bought it from Joe Collias' collection. That stack talk sounds very realistic, congratulations on a great sound install job as well.
Beautiful Locomotive and beautiful layout! Lots of bridges ... I love to see trains crossing bridges!
I saw this video on Youtube a while ago, and now that I can actually see where you started all I can say is wow. Wonderful work!
Other than the green smudge on the left...that is drop-dead gorgeous! Thanks for showing your handiwork.
Joe, I picked up one of the Tobys from Joe Collias via Don Wirth. It is in the detail and paint shop getting backhead details. I hope mine turns out as beautifully as yours has.
I just saw the video as I sit here in my living room, looking at a Bachmann Spectrum box, knowing that inside it is a beautiful HO, undecorated Mountain that mysteriously won't run anymore and is simply waiting on me to send it to Bachmann for repairs. I just got motivated to finally get around to finding my way to the post office very soon. - Your 1522 looks incredible. Awesome video as well. It brought back a childhood memory of my own from 1994 when I made a video of my own. I intend to number mine 1529 which I've always admired in Amory, MS. The finished product looks drop dead amazing! This only inspires me more to hunker down and start modeling more seriously.
