Attached is a blueprint for the Oil Bunker that was used in 1500-1529 and 4100-4134 series locomotives.

Thank you for posting that. It's a nice clean copy.

Thanks to all that have posted the oil bunker drawings. The one element that I am missing is a photo of the arrangement of the oil hatch and the typical arrangement of pipes and valves that oil bunkers have. Any more help is greatly appreciated.

Well, somewhere in this mess of digital photos, I have a couple of shots of the top of 1522's oil bunker. I haven't had any luck finding them and may have to shoot the top of my model. That's the reason I photographed and measured the prototype, so it's gonna be pretty close.

A photo of the oil bunker on your model would be greatly appreciated.

OK Pat, let's see if this works this time.
I don't know why my weathering chalk looks so heavy under the flash. It's not nearly that intense under layout lighting.

Don or others: what is the purpose of the horseshoe-shaped pipe (adjacent to the fill light)?

I don't see it on Keith's drawing or on the hard copy that I have at home. It looks to be some sort of vent, but that's nothing more than a wild guess on my part.

    Best Regards,

    It is a vent pipe.
