  4. Wesco, MO depot is very similar to the Cooks depot.

Wesco depot is the station to the north of Cooks depot station.

Both are in the upper Meramec River valley on the Salem Branch route.

Originally built by the St. Louis, Salem and Little Rock (SLS&LR) Railroad.

From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri:

Here we are at the Frisco Depot in Cooks, Missouri (Cooks Station).

Cooks Station had its start in the 1870s when the St. Louis and San Francisco was extended to that point. The community was named after C. C. Cook, a local resident who paid the railroad company in exchange for the naming rights.

A post office called Cook Station was established in 1874, and remained in operation until 1998.

Several of the historic buildings in CookMO station were purchased last year, and are undergoing renovation.

This includes the store and the hotel. The new owners have built a replica of the original depot on the property between the store and the hotel.

I have heard the entire property will be available on Airbnb.

Here is the replica depot from the road. The old Salem Branch R.O.W. is directly behind the new replica depot.

It is worth mentioning that the dimensions are not quite the same as the original 1870s depot.

This angle shows the feed store to the left, and the Cooks depot replica to the right. Cool touch for them to add!

    These photographs were taken today.

I need to look back through some of the standard drawings that Karl shared a while back, but the feed store has a strong standard section house feel to it.

Thanks for sharing all of these Jacob.

  8. Jacob thanks to you and the Salem Research Group.

All of you are covering the Salem Branch grounds very quickly.

You should have a group patch made showing an A-10 Wart Hog.
