I used the auto reverser (three of 'em) with the NCE system. It works fine.

Thanks, Bob. I wondered if that was the case with the auto reverser.

I got some more track laid down, but it's slow going.

OR you're too stupid to understand it.

Here is the latest video. This has been quite a challenge.

How can I figure out if I'm going to need a booster? I plan on using DCC++. Although I've worked in IT for years and I have a pretty good handle on technology, I'm not very experienced with electronics.

How many locomotives will be running at one time?
What is the current (amps) capacity of the DCC++ system?

I'll probably only run 2 locos, maybe 3 at one time. My understanding is that the amps of DCC++ is 1.5, but I might be reading it wrong.

Well, my layout occupies a space about 30x30 feet. I can run six locomotives at one time without a booster (I use NCE), so I'd say you'll probably be okay as long as you have enough feeders and bus wires to keep the power adequately distributed.

You may be right on the edge of needing a booster. If you do need one, the least expensive and easiest solution is a Sprog SBOOST ($119.95). http://sprog.us.com/sprogii.html#B
    https://store.sbs4dcc.com/SPROGSBOOSTCompleteDCCBooster.aspx ($107.95)

One side of the SBOOST connects to the track outputs of your DCC++ command station, the other side has a power input (for its 15v power supply [supplied], and track connections.

I suppose I could alway add the booster at a later time if I'm finding I need it.

Are these locomotives equipped with sound decoders, or silent decoders? You *should* be able to run 3 silent decoders on a 1.5 amp system.

I've been looking at sound decoders, but I've also been struggling to figure out how to fit all of it in. So, I might be switching to silent decoders.

Drew, before you make a move, let's talk via phone. You have my number.

Sounds good. I'm probably not going to buy anything until August. I got covid last week, while on vacation. So, I've just been spending some time plotting and planning. I'll probably give you a ring in a couple of weeks.

Drew, hopefully you will recover quickly from covid. It's no fun being sick. Keep us posted on your health.

Doing pretty good now. I got back Saturday evening from 10 days of camping with about 100 people for scouts. So, I can't really tell if my fatigue is from covid or from being Scoutmaster. New video should be out on Friday.

Feel like I'm finally making some progress on the trackwork. Plus, I got the wye switch that Bob built for me installed.
