I suspect that the long ties will be used to support a walkway.

I just realized what my last post said.

One of our dogs was setting on our phone and they must have sent the post by mistake.

I know, the dog ate my homework!

Thank you Charlie for sending your reply, I like your post!

    Terry,

I really like your stories about your time as a engineer.

They are very interesting, they have a great description of what it was like to be an engineer.

From Richard Crabtree on the Frisco Rails Across Missouri Facebook group.

Some people get to chase the dream and some people get to live the dream

Here is one lucky fellow Donald Jon Wirth, who was able to be the Engineer for the "Pride of the Frisco Stables" 4-8-2 Northern Frisco No. 1522.

May we all be so lucky to live our dreams!

    One of the three engineers.

I still had hair then and my mustache was dark.

We detested that sign on the front and it "fell off" when the engine got up to Chicago.

And yes, I did live a dream. About 5000 miles of it.

Speaking of 4-8-2 SLSF 1522 I have an question.

What was her regular route in the glory years?

I believe she spent most of her time from Kansas City, MO to Ft. Scott, KS to Springfield, MO to Birmingham, AL.

Into the mid 1940s she seemed to be in service in Oklahoma to Springfield, MO.

When she was retired by the Frisco, she was in local freight service Ft Scott, KS to Afton, OK.

There were a few times when she came up the River Division Memphis, TN to St. Louis, MO.
