Thank you all, hope you enjoy it. I called upon Karl Brand for a lot of minute details about locations and the like. He's a Frisco encyclopedia.

    Don -
FYI, we are about to paint our building; no small project as it is 178 units, 20 stories, four towers. Will take 3 months, do it every ten years, building opened in 2001. Various groups could not agree on the colors to use. We don't want a major change, but want something a little different. Anyway, we hired a paint color consultant, and he has us down now to two color groups.

The reason why I am rolling down this path is that the consultant - Chris is his name - is a virtual dead ringer for one Don Wirth! Not 100% identical, but in the high 90's!

You have a relative named Chris who lives in southwest Florida by any chance?

    K

ps - Kurt and I are both excited your book is nearing shipment. Without seeing it yet, I know it is going to be terrific.

No relatives in your area and I pity the poor guy who looks like me. Get his picture.
I got an advance copy of the book yesterday and they did a good job at the printer. I think Mike said they will arrive sometime mid April. Nice paper and binding.

Don, you have done a great job on the book! Thank you for everything on this project, we really appreciate your work.

Were you the Engineer on 1522 in May 2001? My daughter and I followed 1522 from the Missouri/Oklahoma state line to Claremore. Took a lot of photos and have a great photo of the Engineer. Was wondering if this is you?

I just bought my copy. I am looking forward to adding it to my Frisco books. I was co-chairman of the Cherokee Yard safety committee when you brought the 1522 and the employee passenger special to Tulsa for runs to Sapulpa and back. I didn't get to ride it because I was busy all day with the safety festival we had going that day. I was very disappointed that I couldn't get to ride it.

No, that is Jeff Schmid and John Calcaterra is getting a water sample for Ted Cover to analyze. If that is on the EAS trip I was engineer from St. Louis to Newburg. Tulsa to Sapulpa on three round trips, Perry to Ft. Worth. Lots more after that.

This is Jeff Schmid. John Calcaterra is catching boiler water for our water guy to see if he has the mix right. Texas water is hopeless.

Got mine today; looking forward to perusing it.

My older son got hold of it just after I opened it and was glancing through. He asked, "Only one picture fo the 1522?" I replied, "No, there is a dedicated section in the back. How could you imagine a book on Frisco steam by Don Wirth with one ONE photo of 1522??"
