Our Frisco friend Mark Davidson (@mark) had a heart attack early Saturday morning and is in the hospital. He is resting, awaiting the blood thinners to pass so he can be scheduled for bypass surgery. He is in good spirits and I was able to visit him this afternoon. Anyone wanting to send a get well card can do so at his home address: 3504 S. I also wish Mark a complete and quick recovery. I am late to this thread, so I hope good news is now available. I appreciate his comments to threads and the archives and can confirm that his comments "do indeed help." Terry
I hope Mark get a speedy recovery too. I agree with Terry, I really enjoy seeing his input on these threads, and the facts he posts about locations in photos, etc. His caboose location information was extremely valuable in helping me locate some 1200s for sale. Get well soon Mark.
So, here's the rest of the scoop as of this afternoon; Mark went in for surgery at about 11:00 am yesterday, and the (4 or 5) bypasses were finished by 2:30 pm. Surgery went very well. Mark was taken to recovery about 4:30 pm. At 5:20 pm his wife, Sharon said he was awake and talking, saying he felt like he'd been hit by a Mack truck. Today he is already ambulatory, and will probably be moved from Cardiac ICU tomorrow.
Thanks very much for the update, Keith. 4 or 5 bypasses: sounds like - if the surgery and recovery go well - that he's pretty fortunate.
Don't know how I managed to miss this thread. Sounds like Mark is gonna be OK. I wish him and his family well, and for a speedy recovery.
As a open heart quad bypass recipient, I can vouch what Mark is going through. I was most fortunate that I did not have an attack but felt that something wasn't right so I immediately went and visited my doctor and the rest is history. My advice to all of my fellow Frisco- ites is to not deny your doubts. If you think that something is not right, go see your doctor, otherwise you may not get to see him or her at all. John
