I suppose they will be available if some vendor who is big into books brings them. I myself do not sell books, but I would guess with the NMRA meet being in Kansas City, some dealer will figure out that it would be a good venue. GS
Check with Perry's Hobbies in Minnesota. 800-433-1264. Good service, small discount that pretty much covers the shipping. I have no connection with Perry's, just a satisfied customer. I've probably bought a dozen books from Perry's. Tom G.
Will this book be mostly Mandarin and white or will there be some black and yellow? Any Racehorces/Redbirds? Passenger cars? Thanks, Tom G.
FIRST, when I saw that this post was uploaded at 1:53 in the morning, I knew it came from you, Tom. When do you sleep? SECOND, this is a motive power book, so every class of locomotive that arrived on the roster prior to 1964 or so will have both B&Y and, if they lasted long enough, O&W. That includes the passenger units. THIRD, I am not a fan of roster shots, so most of the images are of trains out on the road unless I absolutely couldn't find anything else. That was mostly the case with the "critters" and other small units where there were only one or two on the roster altogether. Remember, except for a few photos, almost everything in this book came from the archive, which was the whole point of me becoming the archivist in the first place. The difference is that now there is much more complete caption information so readers will have a better idea of what they are looking at. GS
Thanks for the info. As for my hours, I worked at the Post Office for 39 years mostly on night shifts and my "biological clock" is backward from most people. I usually sleep days and stay up late at nights. Tom G.
Ordered my copy of Greg's "Frisco Power in Color, Diesels, 1940-1980" today. Ron's Books has it posted now. I look forward to receiving it. Ken
I ordered my copy 3-4 months ago but last week Ron's Books finally charged my credit card account so maybe that means it is getting close to mailing it. Anxiously waiting!
