I won't say it all worked for me. There were a few missing images on the pages I tried, but I can't say those were not missing from the actual site.
I was mostly interested in the Frisco Passenger car photos, but I also went through some of the non-Frisco pages.

The wayback machine has the site from many different dates. Sometimes it pays to visit an older or newer version to get what is missing.

As far as speed, It never was an overly fast page to load.

"New Business: Mike Sypult said that Mike Condren has early-onset Alzheimer’s and his Condrenrails website is now offline. This is a nationally known treasure and the chapter authorized Mike Sypult to talk to the Condrens for permission to take custodianship of the website and get it back online. Presumably the chapter would pay the provider for a period to be established. In addition, Mike will investigate downloading the trove of RR material from Condren’s computer. We voted on the Preservation Award that gives a plaque and $100 to the winner. The Ft. Smith Trolley Museum, Ft. Smith Historical Society, the Wheaton Depot and the Heartland Museum were considered. The Trolley Museum won."
A group in Memphis has also indicated an interest in preserving Mike's website as well.
Mike lives in Tahlequah, OK and has been a regular attendee at the monthly NRHS Chapter meetings in Springdale, AR,.

So the Trolley museum will be getting all of Mike's data then?

I have very mixed feelings about the FS Trolley Museum, including them being entrusted with artifacts. The A&M has pulled out of using the Trolley Museum as a passenger depot point due to issues there.

I share your comments about the Fort Smith Trolley Museum. I do not think you read the post correctly so I have omitted reference to the Trolley Museum.

I would support the NRHS chapter in Springdale taking care of Mike Condren's website for him. We definitely need to save the website!!!

As mentioned, we can host it here if we just had the files.

It would be great to have it hosted in two places. That knowledge definitely needs to be preserved. And I realize this conversation sounds a little callous on my part for only talking about the website. My sympathy goes out to Mike Condren and his family as well for this difficult time. I got to meet him last year and he's a great guy.

They have met but failed to find the laptop with the files. It is disheartening but they haven't given up. Currently they are also looking for others that might have had backups.

I see the website is up at the old link, with a message at the bottom:

"This site is maintained by the Arkansas Boston Mountains Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society located in Springdale, Arkansas"
