Been a S Fe modeler since I was 8 , I'm 54 now ! I model the S Fe from Pauls Valley , Ok to Lindsay, Ok in HO. It connects with the Rock Island at Lindsay ( the branch from Chickasha ) . At Chickasha the Rock connects with the SLSF . All this in 11 x 20 ft. ! lol. Mega compression ! Hope you guys don't mind me tapping your info to have better representations of Frisco rolling stock on my layout .

Welcome to the group, Dwight. Do they still have the nice old depot in Newton with the turntable nearby? I remember those from my only visit to Newton in 2003.

There's plenty of information to absorb. What era are you modeling? I'd be eager to see or hear more of your layout plan, especially how you represent the connection with the SL-SF (hidden staging, "on stage" or otherwise).

    Best Regards,

Hello indeed. I'll echo the welcoming comments of others. What era do you model?

My era is 1959 . The Frisco connection in Chickasha is implied with an interlocking of the Tulsa - Floydada line and a connecting track . I'd like to have a loco and caboose waiting to cross the Rock ( that's all the room I have ). Was wondering if there was ever a tower located there ? The S Fe also had a branch that crossed in the same location that I'll model as a weed covered, rusty, abandoned track. I work at a factory in Wichita, Ks that has the old S Fe and Frisco interchange on the North and the old Frisco yard on the east of our factory's property .

Hello Charlie . Did you know Richard Stephey who was a conductor on the S fe ? I live not to far from Sand Creek yard in Newton.

The Newton depot is still being used by Amtrak. The turntable is still in use.

No, I'm afraid not. You mean on the South side of 1st Street?
