Welcome, Edward, to the best RR site on the web.
Sounds as if you have some "Frisco" blood running thru your veins.

My Dad's cousin was married to Bill Salsman and they lived on Arsenal. Dad worked for Frisco-Gene Stahl at the Lindenwood Yards and later the office. Mom was 3rd generation Frisco employee working at General Office downtown when she met my Dad. I can remember meeting Bill and his wife and her mother-who was Dad's cousin, Katie Monahan. I think Bill had twin sons. I'm sure they are some relation to you. Bill worked at Frisco too, that's how Dad knew him, besides the cousin connection to his wife.

I worked at the Lindenwood Yards in the 60s with Gene Stahl and Johnny Salsman. They were/are great guys with unbelievable senses of humor. I'm sure that Gene has passed on to the Big RR Yard in the SKY. Johnny, I suspect, is still living and having a good time whereever he is. I believe Bill Salsman worked in the operating department - probably a switchman in the yard.
