My father, Andy Onda , worked in Houston sales for Frisco, then promoted in 1973 to the 5th floor Frisco building in St. Louis. as the regional sales manager (wish I had a few of the door knobs from that building). Dad had all the company tickets for the Frisco box at both the Arena (Hockey) and Bush for baseball and football. He entertained customers, I got great seats for the games. He got me my job in St. Louis right out of high school in Sept 78 in the Maintenance of Way with then Roadmaster Rick Russell. My first days were in Valley Park, MO before moving to Lindenwood. I don't exactly remember the timing of things, but I worked in Alabama when t-1-10 was split up to take a stretch of road out of service banging creepers off the rail 8-10 hours a day. I'm 60 years old, and still resting from that!! lol The merger made it harder and harder to work in St. Louis so I gave it up to move on. I pulled out the old HO goods a couple of months back so it's time to get back on the RR.Interact
