High wide and handsome! I had to look for any indication that this is a model. I finally found one, the thick stirrup on the flat car. Also, wouldn’t there be some braking idler cars?
Thanks Patrick. When Tom got those cars printed there was discussion about the stirrups. I think they are too thick also. But seems like bad karma to change a model someone else built. I have no clue if there would always be idler cars or not?
You could darken the stirrups with some road dirt to help em recede a little. I used to upgrade stirrups on nearly all my cars. Now with age setting in, a little creative weathering is just about as good.
@patrick flory If I’d built it to start with I’d put Aline stirrups on. Or at least darken them like you said. But, since I bought it from Tom I want to leave it his I got it. “As delivered” right HA
I don’t know Tom. Is he deceased? A long time respected modeler of high degree I presume. I too have models that have come a very long journey that I leave as-is for sentimental reasons.
@patrick flory I somehow missed this comment. It was Tom Holley here on the forum that did the research and got it printed. Not dead but high caliber. I have collected from a lot of famous model railroads including John Allen. Thanks sorry this took a year to see. Oops
