I like your backdrop idea to set off the mine spur.
Do you mind a couple of questions .... What software did you use to produce this drawing? I'm not seeing an interchange between the A-FS line and the P-P line. Is that part of your operation plan?

Drawn with AnyRail v5.8, using primarily Fast Track turnouts (staging yards use track from my previous layout, including some Walthers and Shinohara turnouts). The layout is based upon the Vienna and Carthage track plan by Iain Rice from Model Railroad Planning 2012.

I am able to run trains S. bound with pick-ups and set outs from the sidings near the markings of "Team Track / Set Out" plus oil tankers from N bound trains. I also run a from/to Pittsburg train that distributes drop-off traffic and will eventually include the set outs and pick ups from the mine area. The Parsons - Pittsburg local similarly is assigned some traffic.

Still tweaking operations within JMRI Ops for the layout...suggestions would be welcome if you are familiar with the area of Cherokee etc (see previous post on the layout).
