Hello My name is Martin and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I have quite recently started reading about different American railroads for a model railway. I have very limited knowledge about Frisco but that will hopefully change in the coming months and years. The focus of my model railway will be late 40s and early 50s cargo transport and steam. Main reason I started reading up on Frisco is that it covered an exiting part of the USA and that they used my favorite locomotive, the USRA 2-8-2 Mikado. When I found this forum I was very happy since there seems to be a very helpful atmosphere and a ton of knowledge. That was the short version. I will most likely be pretty quiet and just continue reading for a while before I start asking questions. /Martin
Welcome Aboard Martin, we are a great group with very knowledgeable people and like to have fun also. When you are ready for a layout please start a build thread to show off your progress. Looking forward to your next post. Joe
Hej Martin, välkommen på Frisco.org! USRA 2-8-2 är bra, men Frisco's 1500 Klass 4-8-2 och 4300 4-8-2 älskas här också!
Welcome Martin. Hur står det till? WindsorSprings's Swedish is much better than mine. I too like USRA Mikados. The Frisco had many USRA Mikados, and other Mikado classes that were even more powerful. The Frisco also had many "Russian" decapods, which are another of my favorite locomotives.
Welcome to the group, Martin. The Frisco 4000-series of Mikados were the mainline freight mainstay on the River Division where I grew up between St. Louis and Memphis, along the Mississippi River. Long before my time, however. 8^) Here's hoping that you'll find a lot information. Don't forget to check out "The Frisco Archive" and its vast array of Frisco 2-8-2 photos: http://frisco.org/mainline/tag/2-8-2/ Best Regards,
