2200?? Great! Their research is no better than Walthers ot Con-Cor...

How can these guys be so clueless? Not only do they announce the second Frisco E8 as being SLSF 2200, they also propose to name it "Cavalcade". Bet they sell a lot of those!

    Clueless!

They make some real quality stuff and I've ordered from them, but it's almost impossible to deal with them, because they're so careless in communicating with their emails. I tried to order some detail parts and they couldn't understand what parts I was looking for even though they had them listed by name and number. They had the "office guy" (or girl) answering the emails instead of a knowledgeable model maker/modeler...

I contacted Broadway Limted on sunday to ask about the numbers. The response I got confirmed the numbers will be 2016 and 2019.... ( and the website has now been updated to show those numbers too...)

But... I also mentioned the 4 numbers that Life Like has previously done. I was told it might be possible to change tye numbers again, and was asked approximately when Life-Like ran the 4 numbers they have done. I replied with that info yesterday, so we will see if we get another number change.

( I actually never bought any of the split frame Life-Like units, so I only have the plastic framed 2016 and 2020... Plus some custom painted Kato units. )

    Re: BLI locos

Well there are two sales they won't get, I already have a 2016 and a 2020. Maybe those who missed the Life-Like releases would be interested?? I don't get the logic of releasing previously released numbers, but then again, the manufacturers keep releasing Santa Fe warbonnets...

    Re: BLI locos

    Tom,

I suggest contacting BLI yourself and letting them know you would buy them if they produced different numbers.

Btw, the numbers currently selected ( and displayed on the BLI website ) are 2016 and 2019.

I will let everyone know if I hear anything from BLI about a change in numbers.

    Re: BLI locos

I'm actually pretty well fixed for Frisco Racehorse E-units (All four Life-Likes). I'll probably wait until they come out to get a look at them. BLI makes good stuff, the "Redbirds" will probably be well done.

Picked up one of these last week since the club I now run at switched to DCC. The color seems very bright/orange-ish compared to the Life-Like models. Does anyone know which color is more prototypical?

Haven't seen the BLI models in person, so can't comment on their "orange-ish" color. To my eye, the Proto 2000 Frisco E8's were pretty close to the real shade of red used on the big horses.

I got mine and immediately packed them in a box, since I'm getting ready to move (again) but I didn't notice the color being off. I won't be able to pull them out again until late in the month.

Also, remember that lighting can effect the way colors look, what kind of light were these run under?

The prototype Frisco Racehorses were FIRE ENGINE RED, anything less wouldn't be satisfactory. I sure hope BL didn't blunder and look at the later Frisco engines and use Mandarin red instead!!

Keith - Good suggestions for BLI on their new Frisco E8's. 2006 was assigned to No's 3 & 4 and 9 & 10 very often when I was a student at MSM, and we saw it a lot, so it became a personal favorite. 2015 is a nice number and a neat name.

Please BLI, anything else but 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022! I do have 2006 already in the later red and yellow cigar band austerity scheme (ugh!), but I wouldn't let that stop me from getting a nice Traveler. I also re-named my 2022 to Champion.

From the looks of the pic in the BLI catalog, their color shade does indeed look to be well off the mark.

I finally got the chance to run my two E-8s this week. They run well, but, there is a problem.

Both units have "Cavalcade" as the name. I've contacted Broadway Limited to see how they want to fix the problem.

I have a new name to go with the BLI acronym; Building Limited Interest.

Just to follow up on this:

Broadway Limited is sending me a new shell for "Citation". I'll have to see if it is indeed correct when it arrives.
