    Folks -
A bit OT, but does anyone have a firm date as to when the "new" (e.g. brick) Kansas City Terminal Tower 2 took over from the "old" (frame) Tower 2?

This is the one that was just north of the Frisco's 12th Street Freight Depot.

I've found some KC Public Library Photos of the 1951 flood that shows the old tower only so presumably the changeover was post-flood.

The new tower looks easier to scratchbuild for our 1:87 KCT version but I'm trying to keep my Frisco focus, at least, in the early 1940s, in spite of my son's desire to run ATSF E-units alongside 2nd gen diesels!

Maybe I just build them both and swap 'em out, depending on era we're using for that day.

    Some photos from "Fallen Flags:"

    Chris,

I have heard back from the VP Operations at the KCT and he has it down to either 1957 or 1958. He also suggested a review of the info on the Fallen Flags web site but I think that will lead you to the same conclusion.

Not sure if this will work for you or not so why not build both?

    Ship IT on the Frisco!

Hmm, you may be onto something, Rick. I think I'll have room for them both or I can even go the route of the Batavia club and put one or the other out depending on whether I want to run steam or my son wants to run 2nd gen. diesels.

Please pass on my sincere thanks to your contact; I greatly appreciate it!
