M&SW Railway - Command & Control

- The M&SW uses NMRA standard Digital Command and Control (DCC) for layout control. Currently, the layout is wired in two blocks with a Digitrax Chief on one and a Bigboy booster on the other.

- Power is provided by two 5 amp 16 volt power supply.

- Decoders are Digitrax FH84 and FX84.

- Command Station is either DCS-100 or a Computer.

- Throttles are DT-100 & DT200.

- Computer Interface is with Winlok or the MS100.

- Occupancy Detection is planned through DS54s and Digitrax detectors.

- Throttle connections are located on each side of the layout area of the layout using standard 6-wire connectors.

- Wiring was installed in a continuous loop of number 16 AWG stranded copper wire connected to the track every five feet with feeder wires and mechanical connectors as shown in the photo.
