The Frisco and Burlington Northern are planning to Merge.

The other day when looking through some stuff that I have I found this. This is the second one of these I have, both are different though. I'll try and post the second one in the next couple day. I want to apologize for the fold in the middle, that how I got it.

I saw a picture on eBay the other day of a Burlington Northen diesel (unknown) sporting its green and on it a banner saying the Frisco has come home, and that the BN symbol was over the coonskin. Blasphemy. It made me sick to my stomach.

Long live the Frisco!

Murphy, thanks for posting. The close-up of the couplers on p. 5 is good detail shot for those modeling the late 70s.

A bit off-topic, but why is the BN shown running into Paducah, KY. I don't think I realized they either had trackage or trackage rights: was this ICG trackage?

The crease isn't bad. It does, however, result in a photo of Lou Menk that's not very flattering.

The trackage into Paducah, KY was, in fact, former ICG trackage that became part of the BN when the BN sucked up the ICG.

Even though its slogan was "Everywhere West, The CB&Q called on Paducah, KY which is the route shown on the pamphlet map. The GM&O did not enter Paducah, but the IC did. See the attached maps.

Thanks for keeping us straight and fully informed, Karl. Over the years, many trips through Cairo and into Paducah, I knew the IC went to Paducah but failed to notice the Q.

CB&Q crossed Carlyle Lake diagonally between Shattuc and Smithboro, IL, then continued to the northwest. Am I correct in saying this was their Beardstown Division?
