Hoxie, AR depot, shared by Frisco, whose line runs left to right, and Missouri Pacific which runs lower left towards upper right. Date and photographer unknown, but clothing, etc, would indicate probably late teens-early '20s.

Attached are photographs taken of the Hoxie interlocking plant where the BNSF (ex-SLSF) line from Springfield to Memphis crosses the UP (ex-MP) lron Mountain line from Saint Louis to Little Rock. In the first photo the containers on the left is where the station used to be. The highway that parallels the MP track is U.S. 67. Taken 8 July 2011.

Rich, thanks for the photos. Anyone know the purpose of the small, brick building? Looks like interlocking equipment, I'd presume; either way, it looks like a nice vintage from independent SL-SF/MOP days.

Chris, The building does appear to be made of brick on a concrete foundation with a wood soffit and roof though I can't tell what the roofing material is. That door sure looks weather beaten! Perhaps it was built a little before the station was torn down. Anybody know when that was? I agree that it probably houses interlocking equipment.
