    see photos of 4018 in Birmingham on my thread in "Steam, 2-8-2 Mikado". Located at Sloss Furnace (now a museum/park type set-up.) Can be seen through the fence from 32nd St N.

    Let's just hope they didn't buy any more silver or white paint than necessary for the lettering! I'm waiting with some trepidation for photos of the final result, though bless 'em for caring enough to do it.

    Manny, judging from the captions and the visual evidence, that very well may be hail damage to the paint. I don't think that pigeons are that acrobatic in their flying skills.

    There are a few things I could nit-pick, but at least she's painted and still all there. Best of all, no whitewalls!

    She looks good to me. At least, looks as if most of the pieces are still intact.
    My blessings to those who show that a piece of history deserves some recognition. More than likely those doing the work never saw her in real life.
