Since there seems to be increased interest in recreating opertions on our model railroads, I would lilke to try an experiment of sorts to see if it is a practical idea. This is to this point an experiment and I welcome ideas, feedback, and possibly other examples, so here goes.

I have started a new thread under the "Modeling-Operations Category" labeled Operations Scenerio #1. I urge you to visit it and see what idea that I am proposing and if anyone else thinks it has merit.

I've been researching from Wichita on north to Ellsworth. I wouldn't mind posting info as I collect it.

I would suggest if its a specific opertions secenrio that you post it under the Operations tab. Another possibility would be under the Wichita Subdivision tab. I can now see a possible potential problem with overlap.

Maybe we could make a Frisco related industry database of sorts. We could create threads for industries such as ADM Flour in Buhler, or The Eagle in Wichita. The threads could describe the industry and what type of cars were in and out.

A Waaay down the line theme here would be operating the Newburg layout.
I can envision:
A Hostler
One or two yard crews
Local freight both directions
Through freight both directions
Through passenger both directions
Helper engines
Ft. Leonard Wood (when the "branch" gets built.

This sounds very far fetched and will take a good deal of work to make the layout run smoothly.
Plans are for at least two passing sidings on the main, plus a minimum of two towns for local work.
The FLW branch will leave the main on the west end via Bundy wye and circuit through the workshop area which will include a double ended ladder track for hiding trains and rejoin the main at the other end of the basement at the top of Rolla Hill in a "hidden" connection.
Now if things would just calm down here so I can get started with some scenic work and finish laying the passing tracks...............
