Thank you for posting these great track schematics.

Cherryvale would make another great layout design element or a small layout by itself. Add the neat "L" shaped Frisco brick depot, the end of the Parsons Subdivision, the Carthage Subdivision, the Santa Fe connection and there are hours of fun operations.

This would have to be before 1946 that is when the Union Electric quit operations. I have access to the actual Frisco blueprints of Cherryvale and I also have the Santa Fe drawings of Cherryvale and it would make an interesting layout. Upon blowing up this track diagram, almost if not all of the industries, including the ones that paralled the ATSF had solid lines which would indicate that they were served by the Frisco, not the ATSF. This is somewhat hard to believe. Can anyone else possibly shed more light on this?

This map is correct for all of the industries served by the Frisco in Cherryvale. The Santa Fe actually did not serve a large number of industries in town. You have to remember that on the east side of the Santa Fe the Frisco Parsons Sub also ran from 1st street to 6th street. The flour mill on the south end of town was jointly served and the Santa Fe had a freight house just south of Main Street on the west side, other than that, the Santa Fe did not serve many other customers.

Yes that is the old Santa Fe Station. It turns 100 years old this year. the local model railroad club spent nearly 20 years in the frieght end. In one of the photos your car is parked very near the remaining foundation of the Frisco depot.
