Texas Western Flat Car being sold at the Dallas Area Train Show

Howdy folks,

The Texas Western will be selling a custom run 42' SLSF flat car, http://www.frisco.org/vb/showpost.php?p=24033&postcount=1, at the Dallas Area Train show on January 16th and 17th. The club has 96 RTR cars to sell at the show. Road number available are: 95523, 95702, 95644, and 100008. Show pricing, which includes Plano sales tax, is $32 per car. The club isn't offering discounts.

Early next week, a mail order form will be posted that will enable you to order the cars by mail. Details to follow. I was a bit surprised at how much shipping costs, so we're exploring all the options to get the cars to the buyers at the cheapest rate.

The club will take delivery of the remaining limited run RTR cars, kits, and decking around February first. A website link will be posted for the Texas Western online storefront.

Sounds great. One thing I don't understand is this: Will I only be able to order them via mail, or will online ordering be available also?

Just returned from Plano with a couple of nicely rendered Frisco flats. I had an enjoyable lunch with Jeff and Mike, who offered some good advice with regard to getting DCC and sound into number 4500.

Howdy folks,

First off, as soon as the online store is complete (this week), we'll have the RTR cars available for order via online purchase or mail-in a purchase order (check or credit card).

We are expecting the balance of the cars including kits, RTR, and wooden decks to arrive around the first of February. We'll have them for sale as soon as they arrive.

It was nice seeing Karl, Jeff, Glenn Young, Mike Senese and others. I even had a conversation with a gentleman who had received a GP 4500 (He asked me if I knew some guy named Don Wirth).

The RTR flat cars were well received and sales were brisk on both Saturday and Sunday. I was surprised at Sunday's sales, but I am guessing folks had to do something that was fun to get over the Dallas Cowboys' embarrassing loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Sadly, we watched the game on my PC using Slingbox...

It was nice to see Mike Senese again, it has been years since I operated with him and visited his home layout. Good memories.
