Howdy,
Here are a few photos of the pilot RTR Red Caboose 42' flat car lettered for the Frisco and painted yellow. The color in the photos is more orange than the final car; that is, it is a brighter yellow.
The model looks nice, can't wait to get a few coiled steel loads on them...
Happy trails,

Mike:
These are awesome! Have they given you a final ETA on the finished product?

The Iantha Branch will need one or two, as well as some more grain hoppers, box cars, motive power, money, shot guns, things to add to this list.;)

Mike -
I really look forward to these yellow SLSF 42' flats. A few comments .....
o Is that the Accurail truck they are using?
o Your third pic shows the incredibly detailed () underbody Red Caboose included with their kit for this car. The RC red oxide kits are the same. That's OK, because you can't see anything more when the car is on the track if brake rigging/air line details are added.
o When I first obtained the Red Caboose red oxide kits for this car, I was upset they did not include end lettering. After a conversation with Richard Hendrickson (one of my freight car mentors!), I was assured this was prototypical. The SLSF did not put end lettering on all/most of these cars as well.
o The shade of yellow looks very good to me.
o What coupler will the cars come with?
Bring 'em on!

The model follows the prototype practice - no lettering.

The actual shade is a tad brighter and seems to match the color photos better.
