Old pictures from Newburg via Jerry Hurt

Jerry Hurt, bless his soul, has sent me some little snapshots to scan and said it is OK to post on Frisco.org.
Of interest is the shot of a 4400 with a troop train on the FLW branch. This should quell arguments of whether the trestles would hold something that big. The branch was built before 4500s and I kind of doubt they ventured up that way, but we know 4400s and spot engines did.
Also, note the little 0-4-0T. Jerry says his Mom's brother is the engineer.
These are priceless to me at this time, and he is still digging for more.
I hope all of you appreciate seeing these as I do.
You may have seen a couple before, but I scanned them at 2400dpi and worked on them in Photoshop to clean them up a bit for posting.

Howdy Guys,
The old cars in the photo of West Newburg appear to be a 1936 Ford Coupe and a 1940 Packard Sedan from what I can tell, but I have been known to be wrong. :p

The second photo with the saddle tank looks like it might have been taken along the section of the branch that runs tangent to old 66 just a mile or two from Bundy. As far as the third photo, any guess's as to why one of the Firefly pacfic's would be running through the eastern division? Publicity run maybe? Great photo's thanks Don for posting they and thanks Mr Hurst for letting you post them.

When they were rebuilt to streamliners, the Firefly engines and trains went all over on publicity runs. I've seen photos shot in Willow Springs and Mansfield. One of the Willow Springs photos is on page 14 of "Frisco Southwest."

Herre is a little more you guys might like from Newburg. This is the vise from the |-|FRISCO|-| roundhouse in Newburg. Steve, thanks for the additions and please poke up the old man to send more. When I get the layout farther along, I'm going to install sort of a "lounge" downstairs by it and have plenty of wall space to put Newburg photos. Sort of a poor man's wailing wall so to speak.
I'm glad Jerry is enjoying seeing his work here.
