SLSF 5300-5315, ALCo FB-1

FB-1's SLSF 5300-5311 were repowered by EMD with the reliable 567 engine in 1955-1957 (reference "Frisco Diesel Power", Marre & Harper). FB-1's SLSF 5312-5315 were not repowered and kept their ALCo 244 engine over their entire service life. The non-repowered FA-1's and FB-1's were the first to be traded in.

Thanks. I wanted to post these - the diesels of MY Frisco. Black & yellow freight locomotives, red & gold "Racehorse" passenger locomotives, and the sound of multiple 567's chanting in unison as they grind their way up Rolla Hill in the Fall. It was real fun!
